Abstract

Oleksandr Hnatovych Sharhei was born on June 21, 1897, in Poltava in the family of highly educated Lyudmyla Lvivna Sharhei (was Shlippenbach) and Hnat Benedyktovych Sharhei which, while living in Kyiv, maintained close ties with the progressively-minded intellectuals and students.
