Prevention and counteraction of plagiarism
The journal “Academic Journal. Industrial Machine Building, Civil Engineering” adheres to the principles of academic integrity and ensures systematic control over the originality of scientific publications at all stages of the editorial process. Only original scholarly works that do not contain improper borrowing, fabrication, or falsification of results are considered for publication.
All submitted manuscripts are subject to mandatory plagiarism screening using specialized software (StrikePlagiarism.com). The evaluation of similarity reports is carried out both automatically and through editorial expert assessment, taking into account the nature and justification of detected text overlaps.
A minimum text originality level of 75% is a mandatory requirement for a manuscript to be considered. If the originality level falls below this threshold, the manuscript is returned to the authors for revision or rejected without further consideration.
Plagiarism is defined as the use of others’ ideas, research results, or texts without proper attribution and also includes self-plagiarism—reuse of previously published material without appropriate citation. Such practices constitute violations of publication ethics and are not tolerated.
If violations are identified prior to publication, the editorial office may take the following actions:
- return the manuscript to the authors for correction and elimination of deficiencies;
- reject the manuscript in cases of significant overlap;
- inform relevant institutions in cases of serious misconduct.
Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals, duplicate publication, or excessive reuse of previously published materials are also considered violations of academic integrity.
If plagiarism or other violations are detected after publication, the editorial office conducts an investigation in accordance with international guidelines and may apply appropriate measures, including issuing a correction, publishing an expression of concern, or retracting the article.
The editorial office encourages authors to adhere to the principles of academic integrity, ensure a high level of originality in their work, and responsibly use and cite all sources.
