Peculiarities of organization and planning of enterprise production activity

Abstract

The article summarizes the theoretical foundations of the organization and planning of enterprise production activity and substantiates their role in ensuring operational continuity, rational resource use, and stable economic performance. The study focuses on the internal logic of the production process and consistently characterizes its core, auxiliary, and servicing components. Special attention is paid to the relationship between technological, transport, and natural processes as elements of a single production system. The paper also outlines the primary organizational forms of production, with an emphasis on flow production as the most progressive form under conditions of stable demand, technological coordination, and a sufficient level of standardization. The author generalizes methodological approaches to determining the main parameters of a production line, including takt time, rhythm, and launch program, and highlights the importance of synchronizing operations in order to avoid downtime, bottlenecks, and unjustified losses of working time. Considerable attention is devoted to the duration of the production cycle and to the selection of sequential, parallel, or mixed movement of work items through operations. The article also examines the organizational role of equipment maintenance and repair, labor organization, workplace arrangement, labor standardization, remuneration systems, material and technical supply, inventory management, sales planning, cost calculation, and profit distribution. It is argued that effective production planning cannot be reduced to isolated calculations or fragmented managerial actions. On the contrary, it should be understood as an integrated management function that combines technological, labor, material, logistical, financial, and marketing decisions into a coherent system. The practical value of the study lies in the possibility of using the presented generalizations for teaching economic disciplines, for improving internal planning procedures at enterprises, and for substantiating managerial decisions aimed at increasing production efficiency, reducing losses, and strengthening enterprise competitiveness in a dynamic business environment.
