Abstract

The article examines the transformation of scientific discourse on management under the influence of digitalization, networked interaction, and environmental turbulence. The research problem stems from fragmented theoretical explanations of structures, processes, behaviour, resources, knowledge, platforms, and stakeholder relations, which obscure their combined influence on managerial outcomes. The purpose of the study is to develop a conceptual foundation for the advancement of modern management theories in accordance with current trends in the evolution of management science. The study reveals a transition from hierarchical and normative models to a multilevel view of an organization as an open configuration of decision rights, end-to-end processes, digital interfaces, knowledge flows, and interdependent actors. The conceptual core combines dynamic organizational design, platform and ecosystem governance, virtual organizational coalitions, adaptive team formation, and expert knowledge networks. It is established that productive theoretical synthesis cannot be reduced to the mechanical accumulation of approaches. Its validity requires a primary causal mechanism, complementary explanations, common constructs, consistent units of analysis, and explicit boundary conditions. Research methods are classified by their functions in conceptualization, diagnosis, explanation, forecasting, design, and evaluation of interventions. The findings show that strategic flexibility, digital maturity, organizational resilience, human responsibility, and sustainability are interrelated properties rather than isolated priorities. The concept of management integration potential is proposed as a promising direction for interdisciplinary research. Its theoretical foundation is the multilevel theory of distributed coordination, which explains the alignment of information, knowledge, resources, authority, and accountability across individual, team, organizational, interorganizational, platform, and institutional levels. The results support the diagnosis of weak links in managerial architecture and the design of coherent transformations while preserving the functional autonomy of participants.
